    Grade 5: Heroes

Middle Level English Language Arts - Storytelling
The history of our country is alive with stories of people whose remarkable achievements have made Canada, and the world better. These are Canada's heroes, people who inspire us by their deeds, people in whom we take great pride when we say: "They are Canadian." The Path of Heroes is an interesting and exciting series of eight routes through Canada's Capital that celebrates our heroes - women and men from all provinces and territories, from all our nation's peoples, all ages and walks of life, from every area of our history - including today!

With the click of a mouse, you will travel down paths using the latest in innovative Canadian technology. Panorama photography will "put you there" and the opportunities are endless. You decide where you want to go and who it is you want to meet along the way. You will encounter some well-known heroes and some not so well known. Explore the routes, check out the hot links, take a quiz, and share your own personal views on heroes. The possibilities for a fun and dynamic experience are only limited by your imagination. Go ahead. Jump on the path, discover your heroes and rediscover your pride in being Canadian! www.heroes.ca
